George and Lance

I still can't believe that we got to see these cyclists fly by us. Here are three more pictures from someone who was standing at the corner with us. He had his camera on rapid fire. If you don't know who the above riders are than get with it.

Hot Toddy

My intention is not to rub it in, but I just want to let you all know how wonderful of a husband I have. I really could say a lot of things but I'm going to focus on one thing. I love having a clean house which has really had to be redefined with two little children. I also feel very satisfied by checklists. So, I have a checklist that I have acquired that gives me daily chores for the year. I worked all day today and came home to two items checked off on the list! SCORE! Then the kids and I went to the gym and I came home to one more item checked off the list! And I know that one of the reasons Todd is so good at this is because his dad also does household chores. So, again to all the toddler girls reading this post, Rusty is going to be a great husband.

Hincapie vs. Obama

Todd got home today and asked Blynn how she liked the bike race. He then asked her if she yelled for Big George and she said "no, I yelled for Barack Obama". Which sounds more like Beerack for some reason. I love the crazy things she says.

This is the way we roll

We are big cycling fans, and my favorite cyclist is George Hincapie. Well the Tour of California is rolling through right now and they were in our town today. My work knows how important it is to me, so they let me leave for 2 hours while my whole family watched them roll by. The two pictures below are not ones that I took of course.

This was one of the funnest things I have ever done. Todd didn't get to see it and he was super bummed. I was too as he said that he would dress up in his speedo and run along the riders. I was really wanting to see that and post it for you all to see.

There was a lot of friends and family out to watch. One of my good friends who is a photographer also posted some pics. They were going really fast!

What a Great Day!

Today was a great day. A whole day with the people that I love and we were very productive. I completed a lot of projects and Todd did too.

God also showed us the Sierras again today much clearer than the other day. I kind of felt like it was His valentine to us today. I can't decide which of His creation I like more, the mountains or the ocean. This video does not do it justice.

We had heart shaped waffles for breakfast and a heart shaped pizza for dinner.

We also had salad from the lettuce I started from seed back in November. I have been astonished at how well the lettuce and the flowers have done throughout the winter and I would like to credit it to my compost, but I think it is probably because we have had a fairly sunny winter and not that cold.

Blynn and Rusty have been pretty congested and coughing A LOT the last four days, and when this happens Blynn usually coughs for most of the night. I decided to try what several moms have told me works for them although I thought they were crazy. Lathering up vaporub on the bottom of their feet and put on socks before bed. So far it has worked? Coincidence I'm sure.

Valentine's project

Blynn, Rusty and I had a fun project this last week making heart shaped crayons out of those old crayons that we all have sitting around that end up living in your house for 50 years. So we sorted out all the red, pink, purple, and white crayons and melted them down and poured them in these heart shaped molds I got in the dollar section at Target. Then we gave them to her classmates in her Bible study. I was really proud of how they turned out so I wanted to brag and show them to you.

I also made these yummy candy pops for my Bible study ladies and these cute cards. Seriously, who am I? Sherri would be so proud of me.

No Happy Campers Here

Todd came home about an hour ago after a two day trip to a home of very sick kids. There was so much weeping and gnashing of teeth and Todd and I were getting so frustrated and stressed out by a meal time of yelling and crying that we just started laughing. We have consciously decided that this is a better response for us then getting frustrated with one another for nothing.
One bonus is Blynn's fever got me out of going to my sister's kickboxing class :)

Oh Beautiful for spacious skies

One of the best parts of living out in the country is the breathtaking, uninhibited views of the sierras. Most days we can't see them, but they were gorgeous on wednesday of this week. That is actually my sister's house as she lives next door. So far the only negative I can come up with for living in the country is that there is no such thing as a quick ice cream run.
Blynn shared some more of her words of wisdom today: "God lives in our tummies to keep our bones clean. I just read that the other night."

If it looks too good to be true...

it probably is. I love these pictures of Blynn and Rusty and they can have their moments when they are really lovey on one another. But it seems like most of our day consists of splitting up fights and diffusing the whining. Although, I know this is an exaggeration, but sometimes it feels like the whole day.
